@article{Meyer-Krahmer1998, abstract = {In recent years, the co-operation between industrial firms and universities has increased considerably, but the interaction pattern in different technological fields is not uniform. In science-based fields, university departments have a distinct focus on basic research and the major interest of industry is the observation of science. In less science-based fields, the solution of technical problems is a major concern of industry. In all fields, the exchange of knowledge in techno-scientific communities is a crucial element of interaction. In Germany, strong intra-disciplinary ties between universities and industry in mechanical engineering obviously imply an insufficient openness to, and integration of, new technologies. The particular combination of a long-standing culture of co-operation and the economic success in the mechanical industry can be interpreted in terms of a specific path-dependant evolution of a stable sector of the national system of innovation, but with the tendency to lock-in effects.}, added-at = {2012-02-27T06:11:36.000+0100}, author = {Meyer-Krahmer, F}, biburl = {http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/215ea3c3300c1589cb6799c039422eec2/kamil205}, doi = {10.1016/S0048-7333(98)00094-8}, file = {:Users/Miguel/Dropbox/Escola/Artigos/Meyer-Krahmer\_1998\_Science-based technologies university–industry interactions in four fields.pdf:pdf}, interhash = {bf128a8db491eb3bc6be32751e7cff44}, intrahash = {15ea3c3300c1589cb6799c039422eec2}, issn = {00487333}, journal = {Research Policy}, keywords = {Germany,Lock-in,National community,UniversityPerformance,University–industry innovation,Path-dependence,Technological–scientific interaction of systems}, mendeley-tags = {Germany,UniversityPerformance}, month = dec, number = 8, pages = {835--851}, timestamp = {2012-02-27T06:11:36.000+0100}, title = {{Science-based technologies: university–industry interactions in four fields}}, url = {http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S0048733398000948}, volume = 27, year = 1998 }
