Informationsvisualisierung am Beispiel des Begriffs Informationskompetenz: Eine szientometrische Untersuchung unter Verwendung von BibExcel und VOSviewer

Abstract
Objective -- Due to the rapid growth of literature on information literacy, overview and review articles are becoming increasingly important. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the scientific literature using a science mapping approach.
Methods -- The software tools BibExcel and VOSviewer were used to analyze 1589 scientific papers dealing with information literacy and to create three different types of visualizations.
Results -- There is a relatively large international author-network in which most of the main authors are connected to each other. The most important topics are: teaching information literacy in higher education, information search behaviour, workplace information literacy and phenomenography.
Conclusions -- Most of the dimensions have already been mentioned in various review articles. However, until now they have not been visualized jointly using science mapping techniques. Therefore, this article for the first time shows the ?big picture? of the scientific literature. Future researchers could use different science mapping tools or visualization techniques.
