Abstract
Recollects a midsummer forum held in June 2007 at the studio of Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The article discusses the perception of colour and light and the ways in which Eliasson uses atmosphere as to explore themes of human experience, the social encounter and subjective transformation. Specific works discussed and illustrated include Eliasson's BMW Art Car project (2007); 'The weather project' sponsored by Unilever (2003); 'Your activity Horizon' (2004); Pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery London (2007); 'The inverted shadow tower'(2004) and 'Notion motion' (2005). The feature is part of special issue of 'AD' magazine, which explores the theme of atmosphere in interior design.
