Abstract

In this paper, the results of the research of three-dimensional (3D) geometric parameter modelling of different types of standard catalogue gears: spur gears, bevel gears and worms using CATIA V5 software system (modules: Sketcher, Part Design, Generative Shape Design). It is advisable to make the parameterisation of gears for the purpose of automatization of its designing. Parameter modelling application makes possible the control of created geometry of 3D gear model through parameters integrated in some relations (formulas, parameter rules and so on). Geometry of 3D gear model is changed by changes of these parameters values. Designer could generate more designing solutions by gear parameterisation. Final taking into consideration shows that functionality of parameter associatively must obligatory apply in interaction with previous traditional geometric modelling approach. Modelling methodology and functionality that is described by selected examples can be used in any category of industry and in any process.
