How to do everything with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

by: Bill Mann

Description

I only read a few sections of this 450 page tome, and was expecting the usual fluff of page-filling irrelevant screen shots and insulting micro-instructions on which menu entries and dialogue buttons to click on. Not here: the writing is succinct and to the point. The book is thick because Outlook is a big application (e-mail, tasks, calendar, contacts, journal, notes) and the author really covers everything (including instant messaging, voice recognition, handwriting, customizing views, interacting with other Office software, etc.) at the expense of sometimes lacking details and just referring the reader to the help system. Nevertheless, I picked up some useful tips and tricks on how to better use Outlook. The book's second part consists of mostly independent chapters, making it easy to just read those we're interested in. All in all, a useful and well-structured book for beginners and intermediate users.
