In the talk, several projects working towards the Semantic Desktop vision are presented. The integrated NEPOMUK project provides a standardized architecture which is implemented in several sub-projects: Aperture, KDE 4.0 (Xesam, Strigi), PSEW, Beagle++, gnowsis. DBIN, Haystack, OpenIris and Idealiance are alternative approaches. Most of the technology is available as open source components and can be used as a basis for your own work.
