Abstract

LPG fire as a result of a leak from the gland of a propylene pump. Furnace fire caused by liquid hydrocarbons. Explosion in a sump. Nitrogen blanketing - how it can go wrong. Over-pressurised pump causes spillage of flammable oil. Connecting service lines to process equipment. Using combustible gas detectors in an oxygen-free atmosphere.
