Abstract
Using a double sided pressure sensitive adhesive tape (PSA) in a very short range parallel to the welding seam serves different functions for increased seam quality and provides several advantages: 1. Simple preparing the joint by tape rolling application. 2. Instant joining the parts by simple pressing on each other. 3. During welding, the metal sheets are fixed in the reproducible position with minimal positioning effort. 4. Zinc-coated steel sheet causes no problems because of the defined gap for excellent degassing of zinc damp out of the overlapped area. 4. Manufacturing prototypes and small series are most cost- effective by this method.
