Effect Of Stress Due To Undesired Studying On Serum Cortisol, á- Amylase And Some Hematological Parameters

Abstract

Stress produces deferent mental and physiological reactions in the body. Mild stress is useful in cognitive tasks and performance but persistently high stress may lead to neurophysiatric illnesses like anxiety and depression. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of undesired academic studying in the studies of biological science in the final year. In the present study 57 last year Biology students from college of science Salahaddin University served as participants. They were assisted into four groups. Group (1):- male desire biological academic studying. Group (2):- male undesired biological academic studying. Group (3):- female desire biological academic studying and Group (4):- female undesired biological academic studying. Blood samples were collected from all groups during the first semester of the academic year. All blood samples were analyzed for serum cortisol levels, serum á-amylase levels and complete blood counts (CBC)
