These conditions depend on the working regime and the converter design, through the phenomenological Onsager coefficients. The above result can be explain by means of the the products of generalized flows and forces ehich contribute with negative terms (non.spontaneous processes) to the converter's entropy production. We assume that the energy outputs stem from these terms. Some optimization criteria provide the quantitative relations between forces and phenomenological coefficients, by using a coupling parameter, in each of the following optimization cases: maximum power output (MPO), maximum ecological function (MEF), maximu efficiency (ME) and minimum entropy production (MEP). These modes of operation are only some of the infinite performance ways lying between both the MPO and MEP regimes. Each of these operation modes can correspond to some steady state. That is, there are a lot of steady states other than the Progogine's one. Finally, we characterize the steady states corresponding to the mentioned optimization criteria throughout theorems analogus to the Prigogine's MEP theorem.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author>
