We acquire the meanings of these adjectives from a large corpus and propose a probabilistic model which provides a ranking on the set of possible interpretations. We identify lexical semantic information automatically by exploiting the consistent correspondences between surface syntactic cues and lexical meaning. We evaluate our results against paraphrase judgments elicited experimentally from humans and show that the model's ranking of meanings correlates reliably with human intuitions: meanings that are found highly probable by the model are also rated as plausible by the subjects.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Maria Lapata"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

A Corpus-based Account of Regular Polysemy: The Case of Context-sensitive Adjectives.

<dc:subject>dblp </dc:subject>
Maria Lapata NAACL, (2001)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/dblp"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/285f529a179de3af735ca8dbc75bb2f68/dblp"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/285f529a179de3af735ca8dbc75bb2f68/dblp"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InProceedings"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dblp.uni-trier.de/db/conf/naacl/naacl2001.html#Lapata01"/><swrc:date>Mon Mar 15 00:00:00 CET 2004</swrc:date><swrc:booktitle>NAACL</swrc:booktitle><swrc:title>A Corpus-based Account of Regular Polysemy: The Case of Context-sensitive Adjectives.</swrc:title><swrc:year>2001</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>dblp </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://ucrel.lancs.ac.uk/acl/N/N01/N01-1009.pdf" swrc:key="ee"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2004-03-15" swrc:key="date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Maria Lapata"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>
dblp

</rdf:RDF>
