The reader is given an overview of some 250 patterns that are the units of this language, each consisting of a design problem, discussion, illustration, and solution. By understanding recurrent design problems in our environment, readers can identify extant patterns in their own design projects and use these patterns to create a language of their own. Extraordinarily thorough, coherent, and accessible, this book has become a bible for homebuilders, contractors, and developers who care about creating healthy, high-level design. "Brilliant....Here's how to design or redesign any space you're living or working in--from metropolis to room. Consider what you want to happen in the space, and then page through this book. Its radically conservative observations will spark, enhance, organize your best ideas, and a wondrous home, workplace, town will result"--San Francisco Chronicle. A handbook designed for the layman which aims to present a language which people can use to express themselves in their own communities or homes, and to better communicate with each other.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="305879" swrc:key="id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0195019199" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Christopher Alexander"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Sara Ishikawa"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Murray Silverstein"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Constructing Semantic Campus for Academic Collaboration

<dc:subject>iswc collaboration 2007 workshop_fews semantic campus academic </dc:subject>
Natenapa Sriharee und Ravikarn Punnarut Proceedings of the Workshop on Finding Experts on the Web with Semantics (FEWS2007) at ISWC/ASWC2007, Busan, South Korea, November2007.
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/iswc"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/collaboration"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/2007"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/workshop_fews"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semantic"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/campus"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/academic"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/20dcaef4ea4b76e550702c0f1c957d681/iswc2007"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/20dcaef4ea4b76e550702c0f1c957d681/iswc2007"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InProceedings"/><swrc:date>Wed Nov 07 19:17:54 CET 2007</swrc:date><swrc:booktitle>Proceedings of the Workshop on Finding Experts on the Web with Semantics (FEWS2007) at ISWC/ASWC2007, Busan, South Korea</swrc:booktitle><swrc:crossref>http://data.semanticweb.org/workshop/fews/2007/proceedings</swrc:crossref><swrc:month>November</swrc:month><swrc:title>Constructing Semantic Campus for Academic Collaboration</swrc:title><swrc:year>2007</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>iswc collaboration 2007 workshop_fews semantic campus academic </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>This paper proposes a methodology for constructing Semantic Campus, a Semantic Web application that represents the social network of the academics in the university, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok. Semantic Campus is constructed by extracting data that is available on the web site of the university. The extracted data is analyzed with respect to its association to terms defined in an ontology and associations between people in the university to reveal whether or not one academic knows another. We also discuss relation analysis that considers direct and indirect association of the campus-based resources (i.e. knowledge about the people) contained in Semantic Campus. Such analysis can be used, for example, to find specific experts in the university and research interests shared by a number of academics.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Natenapa Sriharee"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Ravikarn Punnarut"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Anna V.
