to contextual information than Westerners. This
article explored aesthetics to examine whether cultural
variations were observable in art and photography.
Study 1 analyzed traditional artistic styles using archival
data in representative museums. Study 2 investigated
how contemporary East Asians and Westerners draw
landscape pictures and take portrait photographs. Study
3 further investigated aesthetic preferences for portrait
photographs. The results suggest that (a) traditional
East Asian art has predominantly context-inclusive
styles, whereas Western art has predominantly objectfocused
styles, and (b) contemporary members of East
Asian and Western cultures maintain these culturally
shaped aesthetic orientations. The findings can be
explained by the relation among attention, cultural
resources, and aesthetic preference.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Takahiko Masuda"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Richard Gonzalez"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Letty Kwan"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Richard E. project, in the field of hospitality studies, in the light of current
thinking on educational innovation. Definitions and theoretical models
of innovation in education are considered and are applied to the
research, development and evaluation process undertaken in initiating
the Irish National Craft Curricula and Certification Board's new
Hospitality Crafts Course. This craft education and training programme
for the hotel, catering and tourism industry adopts an approach to
skills development, teaching, learning and assessment which differs
significantly from that practised in existing craft training programmes
for the industry. It is a programme designed to meet the increasing
demand for multi-skilled, hospitality-orientated young people to
enter the industry in Ireland. The case study explores some of the
practical challenges which were faced in applying an innovatory programme
	within the context of an established educational and training environment.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2007.08.02" swrc:key="timestamp"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="oriol" swrc:key="owner"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Tom Baum"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long

Hat mir außerordentlich gut gefallen.

<dc:subject>read:2006 diet read:2008 book vegan nutrition ernährung study rating:5 china </dc:subject>
<span style="color:#555555;">II Campbell Thomas <a href="http://www.bibsonomy.org/author/M.">M.</a> und T. <a href="http://www.bibsonomy.org/author/Colin Campbell">Colin Campbell</a> </span><em>Benbella Books, </em>(<em>2006</em>)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/read:2006"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/diet"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/read:2008"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/book"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/vegan"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/nutrition"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/ernährung"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/study"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/rating:5"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/china"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/279ec45212fbdb68e88da058121f0af39/cschenk"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/279ec45212fbdb68e88da058121f0af39/cschenk"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Book"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.amazon.de/China-Study-Comprehensive-Nutrition-Implications/dp/1932100660"/><swrc:date>Fri Aug 22 12:51:26 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Benbella Books"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:title>The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long</swrc:title><swrc:year>2006</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>read:2006 diet read:2008 book vegan nutrition ernährung study rating:5 china </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="9781932100662" swrc:key="ean"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1932100660" swrc:key="asin"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1932100660" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="613.2" swrc:key="dewey"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="II Campbell Thomas M."/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="T. In this paper, we describe a large-scale nationwide organizational survey examining the relationship between email use and feelings of email overload and task coordination. We found that higher email volume was associated with increased feelings of email overload, but this relationship was moderated by certain email management strategies. The contribution to the field of CSCW is a better understanding of the concept of email related stress, and initial scale development for the assessment of email-related overload and perceptions of the work-importance of email.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Banff, Alberta, Canada" swrc:key="location"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1-59593-249-6" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1180875.1180941" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Laura A. Sixty-four chains reach the target person. Within this group the mean number of intermediaries between starters and targets is 5.2. Boston starting chains reach the target person with fewer intermediaries than those starting in Nebraska; subpopulations in the Nebraska group do not differ among themselves. The funneling of chains through sociometric "stars" is noted, with 48 per cent of the chains passing through three persons before reaching the target. Applications of the method to studies of large scale social structure are discussed. Flickr, Delicious, Technorati and many others have all featured a tag cloud at some point in their history. However, it is unclear whether the tag cloud is actually useful as an aid to finding information. We conducted an experiment, giving participants the option of using a tag cloud or a traditional search interface to answer various questions. We found that where the information-seeking task required specific information, participants preferred the search interface. Conversely, where the information-seeking task was more general, participants preferred the tag cloud. While the tag cloud is not without value, it is not sufficient as the sole means of navigation for a folksonomy-based dataset.

programming to delay-time algorithms for anti-air
missiles equipped with proximity fuzes. Current
algorithms for determining the delay-time before the
detonation of a missile warhead rely on human effort
and experience and are, in general, deficient. We show
that by applying genetic programming, an evolutionary
optimization technique, determination of the timing can
be automated and made near-optimal. A simulation study

While two case studies focus on the corporate world, two other case studies look at the use of Social Software in academic workplaces. The concluding remarks identify some common benefits as well as issues with the use of Social Software and to derive some further research challenges from the different cases. The findings for future research need to be directed towards strategies for corporate learning and working environments to effectively integrate Social Software solutions for very specific needs in different institutional cultures. Therefore the continuation of social software applications in practice, including some other case studies from non-corporate or non-academic, will be essential for WP 15.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Barbara Kieslinger"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Margit Hofer"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Yiwei Cao"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Karsten Ehms"/></rdf:_4><rdf:_5><swrc:Person swrc:name="Sebastian Fiedler"/></rdf:_5><rdf:_6><swrc:Person swrc:name="Anna-Kaarina Kairamo"/></rdf:_6><rdf:_7><swrc:Person swrc:name="Ralf Klamma"/></rdf:_7><rdf:_8><swrc:Person swrc:name="Beate Krause"/></rdf:_8><rdf:_9><swrc:Person swrc:name="Milos Kravcik"/></rdf:_9><rdf:_10><swrc:Person swrc:name="Tommi Ryyppö"/></rdf:_10><rdf:_11><swrc:Person swrc:name="Marc Spaniol"/></rdf:_11><rdf:_12><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gerd Stumme"/></rdf:_12><rdf:_13><swrc:Person swrc:name="Fridolin Wild"/></rdf:_13></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Tagging and searching: Search retrieval effectiveness of folksonomies on the World Wide Web

<dc:subject>study dis folksonomy social-search ir analysis </dc:subject>
<span style="color:#555555;">P. <a href="http://www.bibsonomy.org/author/Jason Morrison">Jason Morrison</a> </span><em>Information Processing &amp; Management</em>(<em>2008</em>)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/study"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/dis"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/folksonomy"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/social-search"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/ir"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/analysis"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/262ac28c3d46df728a5d577f84d927be3/beate"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/262ac28c3d46df728a5d577f84d927be3/beate"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ipm.2007.12.010"/><swrc:date>Sat Jun 07 15:03:46 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Information Processing & Management</swrc:journal><swrc:pages>1397--1648</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Tagging and searching: Search retrieval effectiveness of folksonomies on the World Wide Web</swrc:title><swrc:volume>44</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2008</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>study dis folksonomy social-search ir analysis </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>Many Web sites have begun allowing users to submit items to a collection and tag them with keywords. The folksonomies built from these tags are an interesting topic that has seen little empirical research. This study compared the search information retrieval (IR) performance of folksonomies from social bookmarking Web sites against search engines and subject directories. Thirty-four participants created 103 queries for various information needs. Results from each IR system were collected and participants judged relevance. Folksonomy search results overlapped with those from the other systems, and documents found by both search engines and folksonomies were significantly more likely to be judged relevant than those returned by any single IR system type. The search engines in the study had the highest precision and recall, but the folksonomies fared surprisingly well. Del.icio.us was statistically indistinguishable from the directories in many cases. Overall the directories were more precise than the folksonomies but they had similar recall scores. Better query handling may enhance folksonomy IR performance further. The folksonomies studied were promising, and may be able to improve Web search performance.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2473655" swrc:key="id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2008-03-05 16:37:39" swrc:key="at"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1016/j.ipm.2007.12.010" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="P. the analysis of a real life case study, the London Ambulance Service [56]. We aim at
bringing to context new methods, techniques and tools that should be of help to both
reaserchers and practitioners. The case study in question is of special interest in that it is
available to the public and deals with a very large system, of which the software system is
only a part of. The survey is divided into four topics of interest: viewpoints, social aspects,
evolution and non-functional requirements. This division resulted from the work method
adopted by the authors. Our main goal is to bridge recent findings in Requirements
Engineering research to a real world problem. In this light, we believe this article to be an
important educational device.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="K.K. Breitman"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="J.C.S.P.
