Specifically, we investigate a special database allowing us to track the trading activity of individual investors of Nokia stock. We find that many statistically detected clusters of investors show a very high degree of synchronization in time when they decide to trade and in the trading action taken. We investigate the composition of these clusters and find that several of them show an over-expression of specific categories of investors.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Michele Tumminello"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Fabrizio Lillo"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jyrki Piilo"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Rosario N Mantegna"/></rdf:_4></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Visualizing Communication on Social Media: Making Big Data Accessible

<dc:subject>communication media social visualizing </dc:subject>
<span class="authorEditorList"><a href="/author/McKelvey">Karissa McKelvey</a>, <a href="/author/Rudnick">Alex Rudnick</a>, <a href="/author/Conover">Michael D. to study social behavior at a new scale. With social media networks such as
Twitter, we can collect large data sets of online discourse. Social science
researchers and journalists, however, may not have tools available to make
sense of large amounts of data or of the structure of large social networks. In
this paper, we describe our recent extensions to Truthy, a system for
collecting and analyzing political discourse on Twitter. We introduce several
new analytical perspectives on online discourse with the goal of facilitating
collaboration between individuals in the computational and social sciences. The
design decisions described in this article are motivated by real-world use
cases developed in collaboration with colleagues at the Indiana University
School of Journalism.

This literature review will examine studies that have used innovative technology, such as interactive computer programs and virtual reality, to deliver direct intervention focused on the development of social and communication skills to individuals with an ASD. Given that the study and use of such programs is still relatively new, the majority of the published literature is descriptive or exploratory in nature. As such, this review will provide a summary of these initial studies and preliminary findings, and provide suggestions for the future development and evaluation of similar programs.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1750-9467" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1016/j.rasd.2010.08.002" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Allison L. This review evaluates intervention outcomes, appraises the certainty of evidence, and describes software and system requirements for each included study. This review has three main aims: (a) to evaluate the evidence-base regarding CBI, (b) to inform and guide practitioners interested in using CBI, and (c) to stimulate and guide future research aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of CBI in communication for individuals with ASD. Results suggest that CBI should not yet be considered a researched-based approach to teaching communication skills to individuals with ASD. However, CBI does seem a promising practice that warrants future research.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1053-0819" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Behavioral Science" swrc:key="keyword"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1" swrc:key="issue"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="The Meadows Center for the Prevention of Educational Risk, The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX USA" swrc:key="affiliation"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1007/s10864-010-9112-7" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Sathiyaprakash Ramdoss"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Russell Lang"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Austin Mulloy"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jessica Franco"/></rdf:_4><rdf:_5><swrc:Person swrc:name="Mark O’Reilly"/></rdf:_5><rdf:_6><swrc:Person swrc:name="Robert Didden"/></rdf:_6><rdf:_7><swrc:Person swrc:name="Giulio Lancioni"/></rdf:_7></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Increasing reading and communication skills in children with autism through an interactive multimedia computer program

<dc:subject>autism children communication reading skills </dc:subject>
<span class="authorEditorList"><a href="/author/Heimann">Mikael Heimann</a>, <a href="/author/Nelson">Keith Nelson</a>, <a href="/author/Tjus">Tomas Tjus</a>, and <a href="/author/Gillberg">Christopher Gillberg</a> </span><em>Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders</em> (<em>1995</em>)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/autism"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/children"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/communication"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/reading"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/skills"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2d53e0e8065df30a6f2ee312e3df0be59/enricostano"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2d53e0e8065df30a6f2ee312e3df0be59/enricostano"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/BF02178294"/><swrc:date>Sat Jan 21 18:08:27 CET 2012</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders</swrc:journal><swrc:pages>459-480</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Springer Netherlands"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:title>Increasing reading and communication skills in children with autism through an interactive multimedia computer program</swrc:title><swrc:volume>25</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1995</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>autism children communication reading skills </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>This paper reports on the effect of using an interactive and child-initiated microcomputer program (Alpha) when teaching three groups of children (N= 30) reading and communications skills: (a) 11 children with autism (M chronological age, CA=9∶4 years), (b) 9 children with mixed handicaps (M CA= 13∶1), and (c) 10 normal preschool children (M CA=6∶4 years). Their mental age varied from 5∶8 years to 6∶9 years and all children received computer instruction supplementary to their regular reading and writing activities. Tests of reading and phonological development were carried out at the onset of the training (Start), at the end (Post 1), and at a follow-up evaluation (Post 2). In addition, video observations of the childrens' verbal and nonverbal communication were added at Start and Post 1. The children with autism increased both their word reading and their phonological awareness through the use of the Alpha program. Clearly significant gains were observed during the intervention, but none during the follow-up period. A similar but weaker pattern is observed for the children with mixed handicaps. In contrast, the normal preschool children increased their scores regardless of the program. Analyses of the children's classroom behavior indicate that the intervention succeeded in stimulating verbal expressions among the children with autism and mixed handicap. A significant increase in enjoyment was also noted for the children with autism. It is concluded that the intervention with a motivating multimedia program might stimulate reading and communication in children with various developmental disabilities, but that such interventions must be individually based and include both detailed planning and monitoring from teachers, and parents, as well as from clinicians in charge .</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0162-3257" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Behavioral Science" swrc:key="keyword"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="5" swrc:key="issue"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1007/BF02178294" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Mikael Heimann"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Keith Nelson"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Tomas Tjus"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Christopher Gillberg"/></rdf:_4></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Visual identity matching and vocal imitation training with children with autism: A surprising finding

<dc:subject>Stimuli; to disorder; developmental Vocalization Pictorial Imitation, training identity imitation; trial exchange Training; Sample; vocal therapy; procedure; communication autism; pervasive learning picture Skills sample; matching visual discrete Visual Perception; </dc:subject>
<span class="authorEditorList"><a href="/author/Cummings">Anne R. For each child, trained therapists conducted daily sessions in a varying order of: (a) 3-choice identity matching-to-sample using 3-dimensional objects, then matching of objects to pictures of objects, then matching of pictures to pictures; (b) a picture exchange communication procedure (PECS); and (c) vocal imitation. All 5 children learned to match objects to objects, then objects to pictures, and then pictures to pictures. Shortly after meeting criterion on matching objects to pictures or pictures to pictures, 4 children learned to respond correctly on PECS. Surprisingly, those 4 Ss learned to imitate simple sounds within a few sessions after demonstrating mastery of the PECS. Results are discussed in terms of the need for more research to confirm this effect, and in relation to the Assessment of Basic Learning Abilities test. de troubles mentaux ou neurologiques.

Beyond Wikipedia: coordination and conflict in online production groups

<dc:subject>communication conflict coordination wiki wikia wikipedia </dc:subject>
<span class="authorEditorList"><a href="/author/Kittur">Aniket Kittur</a>, and <a href="/author/Kraut">Robert E. One of the most widely used forms of online production is the wiki, which has been used in domains ranging from science to education to enterprise. We examined the development of and interactions between coordination and conflict in a sample of 6811 wiki production groups. We investigated the influence of four coordination mechanisms: intra-article communication, inter-user communication, concentration of workgroup structure, and policy and procedures. We also examined the growth of conflict, finding the density of users in an information space to be a significant predictor. Finally, we analyzed the effectiveness of the four coordination mechanisms on managing conflict, finding differences in how each scaled to large numbers of contributors. Our results suggest that coordination mechanisms effective for managing conflict are not always the same as those effective for managing task quality, and that designers must take into account the social benefits of coordination mechanisms in addition to their production benefits.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Savannah, Georgia, USA" swrc:key="location"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1718959" swrc:key="acmid"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="978-1-60558-795-0" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10" swrc:key="numpages"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1145/1718918.1718959" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Aniket Kittur"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Robert E. et 4.7 (S5) Soins palliatifs et fin de vie.

	contexte. Les corrigés sont donnés à la suite.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Florence {Langenfeld, Solange Couturat}"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

The mathematical theory of communication

<dc:subject>communication irhhu mathematical of theory </dc:subject>
<span class="authorEditorList"><a href="/author/Shannon">C E Shannon</a>
