The author analyzed research approaches, research methods, medium of focus and theoretical frameworks in these audience research articles from 1985 to 2002. Unlike findings derived from the analyses of mass communication research articles in major international journals, most of the research articles in Mainland China used qualitative methods. Chinese scholars tend to adopt behaviorist and structural approaches towards the study of audience. The number of research articles that dealt with broadcast and print media exceeded any other media, while more and more studies on Internet users are being conducted. Chinese scholars began to develop theories in recent years. The future study will continue based on analysis of other research materials and comparison with audience research articles in leading international journals.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="B. augment formal face-to-face environments raises questions about the way the new communication
and information technologies (CITs) are being incorporated into the on-campus
environment. More importantly, this development challenges the meaning of the on-campus
student learning experience. The new CITs require institutions, teachers and researchers to
reconsider the relationship of the physical setting to the student learning experience. This
paper highlights examples of recent developments of new learning environments which have
been enhanced by the contribution of educational developers at several Australian universities.
It also proposes a set of pedagogically informed principles to guide the development of
on-campus teaching and learning environments which may feature the use of CITs.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="TONY GILDING PETER JAMIESON"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Impact factors and peer judgment: The case of regional science journals

n/a

<dc:subject>science judgment impact regional peer journals factors case </dc:subject>
Gunther Maier Scientometrics69(3):651-667(2006)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/science"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/judgment"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/impact"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/regional"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/peer"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/journals"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/factors"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/case"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2bfbb2602dd39d907615355f2552aadf1/closingtheloop"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2bfbb2602dd39d907615355f2552aadf1/closingtheloop"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><swrc:date>Wed Nov 14 14:46:12 CET 2007</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Scientometrics</swrc:journal><swrc:number>3</swrc:number><swrc:pages>651-667</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Impact factors and peer judgment: The case of regional science journals</swrc:title><swrc:volume>69</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2006</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>science judgment impact regional peer journals factors case </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>This paper discusses the relationship between Journal Impact Factors and the scientific community's judgment of the quality of journals in regional science, a discipline closely related to economics and geography. The paper compares the results of a survey inquiring the quality of journals in the discipline with the impact factors of these journals for a total of five years. The comparison shows that no significant positive correlation between the impact factors and the peer judgments can be found. In many cases the correlation turns out to be negative - in some cases even significantly.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gunther Maier"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name=" n/a"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication>
</rdf:RDF>
