s à leurs questions.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2008.09.19" swrc:key="timestamp"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="C881240" swrc:key="owner"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gérard Scallon"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name=" Deboeck"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

On the Evolution of Investment Strategies and the Kelly Rule A Darwinian Approach

<dc:subject>Evolutionary programming, finance, choice genetic portfolio algorithms, </dc:subject>
Terje Lensberg und Klaus Reiner Schenk-Hoppe Review of Finance11(1):25--50(2007)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/Evolutionary"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/programming,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/finance,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/choice"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/genetic"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/portfolio"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/algorithms,"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2accc0ccada3bf630c48f4e3392bfd892/brazovayeye"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2accc0ccada3bf630c48f4e3392bfd892/brazovayeye"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.nccr-finrisk.unizh.ch/media/pdf/RoF07_Vol11_pages25_50.pdf"/><swrc:date>Thu Jun 19 17:35:00 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Review of Finance</swrc:journal><swrc:number>1</swrc:number><swrc:pages>25--50</swrc:pages><swrc:title>On the Evolution of Investment Strategies and the

Kelly rule in evolutionary finance by studying a
Darwinian model of selection and reproduction in which
the diversity of investment strategies is maintained
through genetic programming. We find that investment
strategies which optimise long-term performance can
emerge in markets populated by unsophisticated
investors. Regardless whether the market is complete or
incomplete and whether states are i.i.d. or Markov, the
Kelly rule is obtained as the asymptotic outcome. With
price-dependent rather than just state-dependent
investment strategies, the market portfolio plays an
important role as a protection against severe losses in
volatile markets</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://www.revfin.org/" swrc:key="notes"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="26 pages" swrc:key="size"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Terje Lensberg"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Klaus Reiner Schenk-Hoppe"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Large-Scale, Time-Constrained Symbolic Regression

<dc:subject>portfolio data mining, grammars, formal intelligence, programming, genetic selection, algorithms, quantitative artificial management </dc:subject>
Michael F. Korns Genetic Programming Theory and Practice IV, Volume5vonGenetic and Evolutionary Computation, chapter 16, Springer, Ann Arbor, 11-13 May2006.
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/portfolio"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/data"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/mining,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/grammars,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/formal"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/intelligence,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/programming,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/genetic"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/selection,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/algorithms,"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/quantitative"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/artificial"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/management"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2c065a9fe7603277429aa14c7b79d7a94/brazovayeye"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2c065a9fe7603277429aa14c7b79d7a94/brazovayeye"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InCollection"/><swrc:date>Thu Jun 19 17:35:00 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:address>Ann Arbor</swrc:address><swrc:booktitle>Genetic Programming Theory and Practice {IV}</swrc:booktitle><swrc:chapter>16</swrc:chapter><swrc:month>11-13 May</swrc:month><swrc:pages>-</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Springer"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:series>Genetic and Evolutionary Computation</swrc:series><swrc:title>Large-Scale, Time-Constrained Symbolic Regression</swrc:title><swrc:volume>5</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2006</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>portfolio data mining, grammars, formal intelligence, programming, genetic selection, algorithms, quantitative artificial management </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>narrative of the problems we encountered using genetic
programming to build a symbolic regression tool for
large-scale, time constrained regression problems. It
describes in detail the problems encountered, the
commonly held beliefs challenged, and the techniques
required to achieve reasonable performance with
large-scale, time-constrained regression. We discuss in
some detail the selection of the compilation tools, the
construction of the fitness function, the chosen system
grammar (including internal functions and operators),
and the chosen system architecture (including multiple

constant proportion portfolio insurance (CPPI), only
considers the floor constraint but not the goal aspect.
This paper proposes a goal-directed (GD) strategy to
express an investor's goal-directed trading behaviour
and combines this floor-less GD strategy with the
goal-less CPPI strategy to form a piecewise linear
goal-directed CPPI (GDCPPI) strategy. The piecewise
linear GDCPPI strategy shows that there is a wealth
position M at the intersection of the GD and CPPI
strategies. This M position guides investors to apply
the CPPI strategy or the GD strategy depending on
whether current wealth is less than or greater than M,
respectively. In addition, we extend the piecewise
linear GDCPPI strategy to a piecewise nonlinear GDCPPI
strategy. This paper applies genetic algorithm (GA)
technique to find better piecewise linear GDCPPI
strategy parameters than those under the Brownian
motion assumption. This paper also applies forest
genetic programming (GP) technique to generate the
piecewise nonlinear GDCPPI strategy. The statistical
tests show that the GP strategy outperforms the GA
strategy which in turn outperforms the Brownian
strategy.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="doi:10.1016/j.eswa.2006.07.001" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="J.
