Numerous theories and models in these areas are based on representations and computations involving semantic features. Consequently, empirically derived semantic feature production norms have played, and continue to play, a highly useful role in these domains. This article describes a set of feature norms collected from approximately 725 participants for 541 living (dog) and nonliving (chair) basic-level concepts, the largest such set of norms developed to date. This article describes the norms and numerous statistics associated with them. Our aim is to make these norms available to facilitate other research, while obviating the need to repeat the labor-intensive methods involved in collecting and analyzing such norms. The full set of norms may be downloaded from www.psychonomic.org/archive.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="16629288" swrc:key="pmid"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="K McRae"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="G S Cree"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="M S Seidenberg"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="C McNorgan"/></rdf:_4></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Extracting semantic relations from query logs

Extracting semantic relations from query logs

<dc:subject>query relation logs </dc:subject>
Ricardo Baeza-Yates This model is based on the formalism of nested ordered sets which uses inclusion relation to produce hierarchical structure of sets and ordering relation to produce multi-dimensional structure among its elements. Nested ordered set is defined as an ordered set where an each element can be itself an ordered set. Ordering relation in CoM is used to define data semantics and operations with data such as projection and de-projection. This data model can be applied to very different problems and the paper describes some its uses such grouping with aggregation and multi-dimensional analysis.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="unrestricted" swrc:key="rights"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="en" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Alexandr Savinov"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Principles of the Concept-Oriented Data Model

<dc:subject>semantics property concept concept-oriented subconcept syntax relationship subitem inclusion aggregation characterisation inference primitive relation dimension item schema bottom top grouping superitem superconcept model </dc:subject>
Alexandr Savinov Technical Report, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of Moldova, (2004)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semantics"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/property"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/concept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/concept-oriented"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/subconcept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/syntax"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relationship"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/subitem"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/inclusion"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/aggregation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/characterisation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/inference"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/primitive"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/dimension"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/item"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/schema"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/bottom"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/top"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/grouping"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/superitem"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/superconcept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/model"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2742f262e0c7df4094073369b82ece723/savinov"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2742f262e0c7df4094073369b82ece723/savinov"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#TechnicalReport"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://conceptoriented.com/savinov/publicat/imi-report'04.pdf"/><swrc:date>Thu Jan 17 17:54:04 CET 2008</swrc:date><swrc:institution><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of Moldova"/></swrc:institution><swrc:pages>54</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Principles of the Concept-Oriented Data Model</swrc:title><swrc:type>Technical Report</swrc:type><swrc:year>2004</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>semantics property concept concept-oriented subconcept syntax relationship subitem inclusion aggregation characterisation inference primitive relation dimension item schema bottom top grouping superitem superconcept model </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>In the paper a new approach to data representation and manipulation is described, which is called the concept-oriented data model (CODM). It is supposed that items represent data units, which are stored in concepts. A concept is a combination of superconcepts, which determine the concept's dimensionality or properties. An item is a combination of superitems taken by one from all the superconcepts. An item stores a combination of references to its superitems. The references implement inclusion relation or attribute-value relation among items. A concept-oriented database is defined by its concept structure called syntax or schema and its item structure called semantics. The model defines formal transformations of syntax and semantics including the canonical semantics where all concepts are merged and the data semantics is represented by one set of items. The concept-oriented data model treats relations as subconcepts where items are instances of the relations. Multi-valued attributes are defined via subconcepts as a view on the database semantics rather than as a built-in mechanism. The model includes concept-oriented query language, which is based on collection manipulations. It also has such mechanisms as aggregation and inference based on semantics propagation through the database schema.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="unrestricted" swrc:key="rights"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="en" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Alexandr Savinov"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Query by Constraint Propagation in the Concept-Oriented Data Model

<dc:subject>concept-oriented model inclusion relationship constraint top schema superconcept bottom relation propagation inference primitive syntax dimension subconcept item aggregation characterisation superitem semantics property subitem concept grouping </dc:subject>
Alexandr Savinov Computer Science Journal of Moldova14(2):219--238(2006)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/concept-oriented"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/model"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/inclusion"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relationship"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/constraint"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/top"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/schema"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/superconcept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/bottom"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/propagation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/inference"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/primitive"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/syntax"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/dimension"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/subconcept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/item"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/aggregation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/characterisation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/superitem"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semantics"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/property"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/subitem"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/concept"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/grouping"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/24b27ee077a3fc147fcd8632dc807ac09/savinov"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/24b27ee077a3fc147fcd8632dc807ac09/savinov"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://conceptoriented.com/savinov/publicat/csjm_06.pdf"/><swrc:date>Thu Jan 17 17:52:09 CET 2008</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Computer Science Journal of Moldova</swrc:journal><swrc:number>2</swrc:number><swrc:pages>219--238</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Query by Constraint Propagation in the Concept-Oriented Data Model</swrc:title><swrc:volume>14</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2006</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>concept-oriented model inclusion relationship constraint top schema superconcept bottom relation propagation inference primitive syntax dimension subconcept item aggregation characterisation superitem semantics property subitem concept grouping </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>The paper describes an approach to query processing in the concept-oriented data model. This approach is based on imposing constraints and specifying the result type. The constraints are then automatically propagated over the model and the result contains all related data items. The simplest constraint propagation strategy consists of two steps: propagating down to the most specific level using de-projection and propagating up to the target concept using projection. A more complex strategy described in the paper may consist of many de-projection/projection steps passing through some intermediate concepts. An advantage of the described query mechanism is that it does not need any join conditions because it uses the structure of the model for propagation. Moreover, this mechanism does not require specifying an access path using dimension names. Thus even rather complex queries can be expressed in simple and natural form because they are expressed by specifying what information is available what related data we want to get.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1561-4042" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="en" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Alexandr Savinov"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

PORE: Positive-Only Relation Extraction from Wikipedia Text

<dc:subject>research_04 web_annotation information_extraction iswc semantic_web extraction 2007 relation wikipedia natural_language_processing text </dc:subject>
Gang Wang and Yong Yu and Haiping Zhu Proceedings of the 6th International Semantic Web Conference and 2nd Asian Semantic Web Conference (ISWC/ASWC2007), Busan, South Korea, volume4825ofLNCS, page575--588. Berlin, Heidelberg, Springer Verlag, November2007.
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/research_04"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/web_annotation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/information_extraction"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/iswc"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semantic_web"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/extraction"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/2007"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/wikipedia"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/natural_language_processing"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/text"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/217924e4426a88a55c12154b5b70676e0/iswc2007"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/217924e4426a88a55c12154b5b70676e0/iswc2007"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InProceedings"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://iswc2007.semanticweb.org/papers/575.pdf"/><swrc:date>Wed Nov 07 19:13:58 CET 2007</swrc:date><swrc:address>Berlin, Heidelberg</swrc:address><swrc:booktitle>Proceedings of the 6th International Semantic Web Conference and 2nd Asian Semantic Web Conference (ISWC/ASWC2007), Busan, South Korea</swrc:booktitle><swrc:crossref>http://data.semanticweb.org/conference/iswc-aswc/2007/proceedings</swrc:crossref><swrc:month>November</swrc:month><swrc:pages>575--588</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Springer Verlag"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:series>LNCS</swrc:series><swrc:title>PORE: Positive-Only Relation Extraction from Wikipedia Text</swrc:title><swrc:volume>4825</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2007</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>research_04 web_annotation information_extraction iswc semantic_web extraction 2007 relation wikipedia natural_language_processing text </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>Extracting semantic relations is of great importance for the creation of the Semantic Web content. It is of great benefit to semi-automatically extract relations from the free text of Wikipedia using the structured content readily available in it. Pattern matching methods that employ information redundancy cannot work well since there is not much redundancy information in Wikipedia, compared to the Web. Multi-class classification methods are not reasonable since no classification of relation types is available in Wikipedia. In this paper, we propose PORE (Positive-Only Relation Extraction), for relation extraction from Wikipedia text. The core algorithm B-POL extends a state-of-the-art positive-only learning algorithm using bootstrapping, strong negative identification, and transductive inference to work with fewer positive training examples. We conducted experiments on several relations with different amount of training data. The experimental results show that B-POL can work effectively given only a small amount of positive training examples and it significantly outperforms the original positive learning approaches and a multi-class SVM. Furthermore, although PORE is applied in the context of Wikipedia, the core algorithm B-POL is a general approach for Ontology Population and can be adapted to other domains.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gang Wang"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Yong Yu"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Haiping Zhu"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Karl Aberer"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Key-Sun Choi"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Natasha Noy"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Dean Allemang"/></rdf:_4><rdf:_5><swrc:Person swrc:name="Kyung-Il Lee"/></rdf:_5><rdf:_6><swrc:Person swrc:name="Lyndon J B Nixon"/></rdf:_6><rdf:_7><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jennifer Golbeck"/></rdf:_7><rdf:_8><swrc:Person swrc:name="Peter Mika"/></rdf:_8><rdf:_9><swrc:Person swrc:name="Diana Maynard"/></rdf:_9><rdf:_10><swrc:Person swrc:name="Guus Schreiber"/></rdf:_10><rdf:_11><swrc:Person swrc:name="Philippe Cudré-Mauroux"/></rdf:_11></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Maintaining Knowledge about Temporal Intervals

<dc:subject>temporal interval-based relation time knowledge </dc:subject>
James F. Allen Communications of the ACM(1983)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/temporal"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/interval-based"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/relation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/time"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/knowledge"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/27a6939700fc4fb08b728c72df52552bb/brainmachine"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/27a6939700fc4fb08b728c72df52552bb/brainmachine"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><swrc:date>Wed Oct 24 12:16:49 CEST 2007</swrc:date><swrc:journal>{Communications of the ACM}</swrc:journal><swrc:pages>832--843</swrc:pages><swrc:title>{Maintaining Knowledge about Temporal Intervals}</swrc:title><swrc:volume>26</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1983</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>temporal interval-based relation time knowledge </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1431197" swrc:key="id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="An AI-based approach to the maintainance and updating of Knowledge about temporal intervals" swrc:key="comment"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="James F. and entities in sentences, while taking mutual
dependencies among them into account. E.g., the kill
(Johns, Oswald) relation in: {"}J. V. Oswald was
murdered at JFK after his assassin,

K. F. Johns...{"} depends on identifying Oswald
and Johns as people, JFK being identified as a location,
and the kill relation between Oswald and Johns; this, in
turn, enforces that Oswald and Johns are people.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="209254" swrc:key="id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="D.
