This paper extends the syntax and semantics of RDF to cover such Named Graphs. This enables RDF statements that describe graphs, which is beneficial in many Semantic Web application areas. As a case study, we explore the application area of Semantic Web publishing: Named Graphs allow publishers to communicate assertional intent, and to sign their graphs; information consumers can evaluate specific graphs using task-specific trust policies, and act on information from those Named Graphs that they accept. Graphs are trusted depending on: their content; information about the graph; and the task the user is performing. The extension of RDF to Named Graphs provides a formally defined framework to be a foundation for the Semantic Web trust layer.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Chiba, Japan" swrc:key="location"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1-59593-046-9" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1060745.1060835" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jeremy J. RDF data. We present XSLT+SPARQL, a set of extension functions for
XSLT which allow stylesheets to directly access RDF data, independently of any serialization syntax, by means of SPARQL queries. Using these functions, XSLT stylesheets can retrieve, query, merge and transform data from the semantic web. We designed and implemented a process to normalize documents to RDF format, extract document topics using Web 2.0 services and finally match extracted topics to a Semantic Web ontology. Due to ConTag we are able to show that the information provided by Web 2.0 services in combination with a Semantic Web ontology enables the generation of relevant semantic tag recommendations for documents. The main contribution of this work is a semantic tag recommendation process based on a choreography of Web 2.0 services.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2007.09.12" swrc:key="timestamp"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="adrian+2007a.pdf" swrc:key="pdf"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="sauermann" swrc:key="owner"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="ISSN 0948-6968" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Benjamin Adrian"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Leo Sauermann"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Thomas Roth-Berghofer"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Tassilo Pellegrini"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Sebastian Schaffert"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Social Networks Applied

Social Networks Applied

<dc:subject>s:toread ontology semanticweb </dc:subject>
Steffen Staab and Pedro Domingos and Peter Mika and Jennifer Golbeck and Li Ding and Tim Finin and Anupam Joshi and Andrzej Nowak and Robin R. Vallacher IEEE Intelligent Systems20(1):80-93(2005)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/s:toread"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/ontology"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semanticweb"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/29ad8c0804e082255911531a78737db85/enterldestodes"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/29ad8c0804e082255911531a78737db85/enterldestodes"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><swrc:date>Thu Jun 05 14:33:21 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:address>Los Alamitos, CA, USA</swrc:address><swrc:journal>IEEE Intelligent Systems</swrc:journal><swrc:number>1</swrc:number><swrc:pages>80-93</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="IEEE Computer Society"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:title>Social Networks Applied</swrc:title><swrc:volume>20</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2005</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>s:toread ontology semanticweb </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1541-1672" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://doi.ieeecomputersociety.org/10.1109/MIS.2005.16" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Steffen Staab"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Pedro Domingos"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Peter Mika"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jennifer Golbeck"/></rdf:_4><rdf:_5><swrc:Person swrc:name="Li Ding"/></rdf:_5><rdf:_6><swrc:Person swrc:name="Tim Finin"/></rdf:_6><rdf:_7><swrc:Person swrc:name="Anupam Joshi"/></rdf:_7><rdf:_8><swrc:Person swrc:name="Andrzej Nowak"/></rdf:_8><rdf:_9><swrc:Person swrc:name="Robin R. Ontology Management, an edited volume by senior researchers in the field, provides an up-to-date, concise and easy-to-read reference on this topic.

This volume describes relevant tasks, practical and theoretical challenges, limitations and methodologies, plus available software tools. The editors discuss integrating the conceptual and technical dimensions with a business view on using ontologies, by stressing the cost dimension of ontology engineering and by providing guidance on how up-to-date tooling helps to build, maintain, and use ontologies. Also included is a one-stop reference on all aspects of managing ontological data and best practices on ontology management for a number of application domains.

Ontology Management is designed as a reference or secondary text for researchers and advanced-level students interested in the Semantic Web, Semantic Web Services (SWS)and Web Services, information systems, data and knowledge engineering, ontologies, or other aspects of semantic systems. Practitioners in industry will find this work invaluable as well.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Hepp Martin"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Pieter De Leenheer"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Aldo de Moor"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="York Sure"/></rdf:_4></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Games with a Purpose for the Semantic Web

IEEEXplore# Games with a Purpose for the Semantic Web

<dc:subject>semanticweb learning crowdsourcing </dc:subject>
Katharina Siorpaes and Martin Hepp (2008)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semanticweb"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/learning"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/crowdsourcing"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/21543b32383133720ed69e96d6c1bc088/stefano"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/21543b32383133720ed69e96d6c1bc088/stefano"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freeabs_all.jsp?arnumber=4525142"/><swrc:date>Mon Jun 02 13:55:30 CEST 2008</swrc:date><swrc:booktitle>Intelligent Systems, IEEE</swrc:booktitle><swrc:pages>50-60</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Games with a Purpose for the Semantic Web</swrc:title><swrc:volume>23</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2008</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>semanticweb learning crowdsourcing </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>Weaving the Semantic Web requires that humans contribute their labor and judgment for extending and updating formal knowledge structures. Key tasks in evolving the current Web to a Semantic Web include discovering and specifying semantic relationships between multiple ontologies and annotating textual or multimedia information. However, whereas the Web 2.0 movement is fueled by an unprecedented number of contributions from Web users, there's a substantial lack of user involvement in weaving the heavyweight Semantic Web. One cause of this lack of involvement is a lack of proper incentive structures. Hiding the tasks involved in weaving the Semantic Web behind online multiplayer games presents the tasks as fun and intellectually challenging entertainment. A series of OntoGame prototypes support the full life cycle of realizing the Semantic Web. These games adopt Luis von Ahn's "games with a purpose" concept—that is, presenting a task as an online game can motivate many people to work on this task, and for free. Preliminary results suggest that users are willing to spend substantial time playing the OntoGames. In addition, a setting in which users must propose a solution to a conceptual-modeling task such that it will most likely be consensual with an unknown game partner produces high-quality semantic data.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1541-1672" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1109/MIS.2008.45" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Katharina Siorpaes"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Martin Hepp"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Foafing the Music: Bridging the Semantic Gap in Music Recommendation

Imported BibTeX

<dc:subject>ontology, rss, recommendation, semanticweb music, foaf, </dc:subject>
`Oscar Celma As the Semantic Web slowly becomes real and the amount of online semantic data increases, a new generation of tools is developed that automatically find and integrate this data. Unlike in the case of earlier tools where mapping has been performed at the design time of the tool, these new tools require mapping techniques that can be performed at run time. The contribution of this paper is twofold. First, we investigate the general requirements for run time mapping techniques. Second, we describe our PowerMap mapping algorithm that was designed to be used at run-time by an ontology based question answering tool.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Vanessa Lopez"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Marta Sabou"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Enrico Motta"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Towards Principles for the Design of Ontologies Used for Knowledge Sharing

<dc:subject>ontologies, semanticWeb </dc:subject>
T.
