Ziel ist es Grundlagen für nachfolgende Kapitel zu geben, welche die speziellen Ausprägungen der Anwendungen in CSCL-Umgebungen darlegen.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Martin Ebner"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Anja Lorenz"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author><swrc:editor><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Joerg Haake"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gerhard Schwabe"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Martin Wessner"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:editor></rdf:Description></burst:publication></item><item rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2ff492ea94eeabbe41a558d3b28a90c17/trude"><title>Facebook® and academic performance.</title><link>http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2ff492ea94eeabbe41a558d3b28a90c17/trude</link><dc:creator>trude</dc:creator><dc:date>2011-08-16T14:01:32+02:00</dc:date><dc:subject>2010 facebook pathologies performance psycology socialNetwork </dc:subject><content:encoded>&lt;span class=&#034;authorEditorList&#034;&gt;&lt;a href=&#034;/author/Kirschner&#034;&gt;Paul A. In other words, kids today can multitask. Unfortunately for proponents of this position, there is much empirical documentation concerning the negative effects of attempting to simultaneously process different streams of information showing that such behavior leads to both increased study time to achieve learning parity and an increase in mistakes while processing information than those who are sequentially or serially processing that same information. This article presents the preliminary results of a descriptive and exploratory survey study involving Facebook use, often carried out simultaneously with other study activities, and its relation to academic performance as measured by self-reported Grade Point Average (GPA) and hours spent studying per week. Results show that Facebook® users reported having lower GPAs and spend fewer hours per week studying than nonusers.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.chb.2010.03.024" swrc:key="ee"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0747-5632" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1016/j.chb.2010.03.024" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Paul A. Any Web site that allows social interaction is considered a social media site, including social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter; gaming sites and virtual worlds such as Club Penguin, Second Life, and the Sims; video sites such as YouTube; and blogs. Such sites offer today&#039;s youth a portal for entertainment and communication and have grown exponentially in recent years. For this reason, it is important that parents become aware of the nature of social media sites, given that not all of them are healthy environments for children and adolescents. Pediatricians are in a unique position to help families understand these sites and to encourage healthy use and urge parents to monitor for potential problems with cyberbullying, &#034;Facebook depression,&#034; sexting, and exposure to inappropriate content.

The procedure is illustrated by elaboration of the macro implications of one aspect of small-scale interaction: the strength of dyadic ties. It is argued that the degree of overlap of two individuals&#039; friendship networks varies directly with the strength of their tie to one another. The impact of this principle on diffusion of influence and information, mobility opportunity, and community organization is explored. Stress is laid on the cohesive power of weak ties. Most network models deal, implicitly, with strong ties, thus confining their applicability to small, welldefined groups. Emphasis on weak ties lends itself to discussion of relations between groups and to analysis of segments of social structure not easily defined in terms of primary groups.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Mark S.
