	magnetic resonance imaging (DT-MRI) can be used to noninvasively
	visualize white matter fibers in human brain. And it is the unique
	way to reconstruct those fibers in vivo. However, there are some
	obstacles for the reconstruction process, e.g., partial volume effect
	caused by low spatial resolution negatively affects the DT-MRI results,
	and continuous fibers are indicated by the discrete signal on the
	DT-MRI. A fiber tracking algorithm is proposed in this paper. Major
	eigenvectors and fractional anisotropy (FA) values of the correlative
	voxels are used for fiber tracking. As a result, this method shows
	stronger potential to depict the distribution of white matter fibers

	its Applications</swrc:title><swrc:year>2005</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>Diffusion, Tensor DTI Imaging, Diffusion </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>Water dffusion is anisotropic in organized tissues such as white matter
	and muscle. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), a non-invasive MR technique,
	measures water self-diffusion rates and thus gives an indication
	of the underlying microstructure of tissue. The diffusion rate is
	often expressed by a second-order tensor. Visualizing DTI in an
	insightful way is challenging because of the high dimensionality
	of the diffusion tensor and the complex spatial relationships in
	a diffusion tensor field. This chapter surveys the different visualization
	techniques that have been developed for DTI and compares their main
	characteristics and drawbacks. We also discuss some of the many
	biomedical applications in which DTI helps extend our understanding
	or improve clinical procedures. We conclude with an overview of
