The notion of "social tagging" usually refers to web-based systems that are supporting users in collaboratively tagging and sharing resources, such as Delicious, Flickr and others. In recent years, social tagging systems have emerged as an interesting alternative to labeling and linking resources on the web. This development has created an interesting opportunity for the Hypertext research community to gain new perspectives and understanding about the dynamics and nature of tagging and linking in large scale, participative Hypertext systems.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1931-1745" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1645398.1645400" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Christian K\"{o}rner"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Markus Strohmaier"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>
A call for social tagging datasets

Stop Thinking, Start Tagging: Tag Semantics Emerge From Collaborative Verbosity

<dc:subject>motivation myown semantic social tagging taggingsurvey </dc:subject>
? WWW2010: Proceedings of the 19th International World Wide Web Conference, Raleigh, NC, USA, April 26-30, ACM, (2010)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/motivation"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/myown"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/semantic"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/social"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/tagging"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/taggingsurvey"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/29aa14a6ac1e6a0b4bb862abf71b8d284/mstrohm"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/29aa14a6ac1e6a0b4bb862abf71b8d284/mstrohm"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InProceedings"/><swrc:date>Fri Feb 26 17:24:25 CET 2010</swrc:date><swrc:booktitle>WWW2010: Proceedings of the 19th International World Wide Web Conference, Raleigh, NC, USA, April 26-30</swrc:booktitle><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="ACM"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:title>Stop Thinking, Start Tagging: Tag Semantics Emerge From Collaborative Verbosity</swrc:title><swrc:year>2010</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>motivation myown semantic social tagging taggingsurvey </swrc:keywords><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name=" ?"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>

Using social psychology to motivate contributions to online communities

<dc:subject>MUSTREAD goals social social-factors web-science web2.0 </dc:subject>
G. Firstly, both technologies harvest and harness "community wisdom" and in an integrated system each of the search and navigation components can benefit from the additional community wisdom gathered by the other when assisting users to locate relevant information. Secondly, by integrating search and browsing we facilitate the development of a unique interface that effectively blends search and browsing functionality as part of a seamless social information access service. This service allows users to effectively combine their search and browsing behaviors. In this paper we will argue that this integration provides significantly more than the simple sum of the parts.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Honolulu, Hawaii, USA" swrc:key="location"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1-59593-481-2" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1216295.1216312" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jill Freyne"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Rosta Farzan"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Peter Brusilovsky"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Barry Smyth"/></rdf:_4><rdf:_5><swrc:Person swrc:name="Maurice Coyle"/></rdf:_5></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>
Collecting community wisdom

Information Retrieval in Folksonomies: Search and Ranking

<dc:subject>folksonomy search social web-science web2.0 </dc:subject>
Andreas Hotho, Robert Jäschke, Christoph Schmitz, and Gerd Stumme The Semantic Web: Research and Applications, 3rd European Semantic Web Conference, ESWC 2006, Budva, Montenegro, volume 4011 of Lecture Notes in Computer Science, page 411-426. Berlin / Heidelberg, Springer, (Jun 11, 2006)
<taxo:topics><rdf:Bag><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/folksonomy"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/search"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/social"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/web-science"/><rdf:li rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/web2.0"/></rdf:Bag></taxo:topics><burst:publication><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/29e7f5da7fc0897f5ab41e0d59760deb2/mstrohm"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/29e7f5da7fc0897f5ab41e0d59760deb2/mstrohm"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#InProceedings"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/11762256_31"/><swrc:date>Wed Aug 08 15:38:42 CEST 2007</swrc:date><swrc:address>Berlin / Heidelberg</swrc:address><swrc:booktitle>The Semantic Web: Research and Applications, 3rd European Semantic Web Conference, ESWC 2006, Budva, Montenegro</swrc:booktitle><swrc:month>June</swrc:month><swrc:pages>411-426</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Springer"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:series>Lecture Notes in Computer Science</swrc:series><swrc:title>Information Retrieval in Folksonomies: Search and Ranking</swrc:title><swrc:volume>4011</swrc:volume><swrc:year>2006</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>folksonomy search social web-science web2.0 </swrc:keywords><swrc:day>11-14</swrc:day><swrc:abstract>Social bookmark tools are rapidly emerging on the Web. In such systems users are setting up lightweight conceptual structures called folksonomies. The reason for their immediate success is the fact that no specific skills are needed for participating. At the moment, however, the information retrieval support is limited. We present a formal model and a new search algorithm for folksonomies, called FolkRank, that exploits the structure of the folksonomy. The proposed algorithm is also applied to find communities within the folksonomy and is used to structure search results. All findings are demonstrated on a large scale dataset.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0302-9743" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="3-540-34544-2" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Andreas Hotho"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Robert Jäschke"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Christoph Schmitz"/></rdf:_3><rdf:_4><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gerd Stumme"/></rdf:_4></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></burst:publication>
</rdf:RDF>
