Terms of Use

  1. Using BibSonomy implies agreement with these Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement.
  2. The Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement may be changed without notice. It is the user's responsibility to check the Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement periodically.
  3. BibSonomy is a social bookmarking service which can be used free of charge.
  4. BibSonomy does not give any warranties regarding data integrity, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or quality of content.
  5. Users give BibSonomy the right to publish the content they post in the system.
  6. BibSonomy is not responsible for content posted by users.
  7. Users are solely responsible for the content they publish.
  8. Users will not use BibSonomy in a fashion which may corrupt the service or threaten the privacy of other users, including, but not limited to:
    1. Posting content in order to promote certain web sites in search engine rankings (spam)
    2. Posting content in order to establish commercial transactions (advertisement)
    3. Hacking or trying to obtain passwords of other users
    4. Denial of service attacks against BibSonomy
    5. Automatic harvesting of BibSonomy contents
    6. Giving account information to third parties.
  9. Users may be excluded from the system temporarily or permanently if considered to be violating the Terms of Use or the Privacy Statement.
  10. Content posted by users may be deleted or withheld from the public pages of BibSonomy if considered to be violating the Terms of Service or the Privacy Statement.

Privacy Statement

  1. Personal data such as network addresses, email addresses, sessions, user IDs, and cookies will be stored on the BibSonomy servers and may be used to internally analyze the usage of the system and improve BibSonomy. These personal data will not be given to third parties.
  2. Anonymized versions of the data, which do not yield any information about actual network addresses, user IDs, or email addresses, may be used and published for research purposes and may be given to third parties for research purposes.
  3. The anonymized data will be produced by applying one-way functions (hashing) to the original data.
