Where multiple categorisations exist, this implicitly involves the adoption of a conceptual perspective. A challenge for the automatic Generation of Referring Expressions is to identify a set of referents coherently, adopting the same conceptual perspective. We describe and evaluate an algorithm to achieve this. The design of the algorithm is motivated by the results of psycholinguistic experiments.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2007-10-26 14:36:15" swrc:key="posted-at"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="5" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1825094" swrc:key="citeulike-article-id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10849-007-9047-0" swrc:key="citeulike-linkout-0"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1007/s10849-007-9047-0" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Albert Gatt"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Kees van Deemter"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/281e210ebe92b01ed4098958537016153/dblp"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/281e210ebe92b01ed4098958537016153/dblp"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dblp.uni-trier.de/db/journals/csl/csl12.html#Deemter98"/><swrc:date>Tue Jul 21 00:00:00 CEST 2009</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Computer Speech & Language</swrc:journal><swrc:number>3</swrc:number><swrc:pages>143-164</swrc:pages><swrc:title>A blackboard model of accenting.</swrc:title><swrc:volume>12</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1998</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>dblp </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://dx.doi.org/10.1006/csla.1998.0044" swrc:key="ee"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2009-07-21" swrc:key="date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Kees van Deemter"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2b8f9891351384266abb9fd12d12d1070/dblp"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2b8f9891351384266abb9fd12d12d1070/dblp"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dblp.uni-trier.de/db/journals/speech/speech21.html#DeemterO97"/><swrc:date>Tue Jul 14 00:00:00 CEST 2009</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Speech Communication</swrc:journal><swrc:number>1-2</swrc:number><swrc:pages>101-121</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Context modeling and the generation of spoken discourse.</swrc:title><swrc:volume>21</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1997</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>dblp </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0167-6393(96)00069-6" swrc:key="ee"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2009-07-14" swrc:key="date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Kees van Deemter"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jan Odijk"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/205c82834c56f6e3b6ef6a6d815ec514b/dominikb1888"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/205c82834c56f6e3b6ef6a6d815ec514b/dominikb1888"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/3-540-48762-X_78"/><swrc:date>Wed Jan 14 02:59:19 CET 2009</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Visual Information and Information Systems</swrc:journal><swrc:pages>653--653</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Document Generation and Picture Retrieval</swrc:title><swrc:year>1999</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>diplomarbeit prototype </swrc:keywords><swrc:abstract>Picture retrieval can be used by a document generation system for the inclusion of ‘photographic’ pictures in the documents
