This information is of particular importance with regard to AMPA-type glutamate receptors, the multimeric complexes assembled from GluA1-A4 subunits, as the trafficking of these receptors into and out of synapses is proposed to depend upon the subunit composition of the receptor. We report a molecular quantification of synaptic AMPA receptors (AMPARs) by employing a single-cell genetic approach coupled with electrophysiology in hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons. In contrast to prevailing views, we find that GluA1A2 heteromers are the dominant AMPARs at CA1 cell synapses (approximately 80\%). In cells lacking GluA1, -A2, and -A3, synapses are devoid of AMPARs, yet synaptic NMDA receptors (NMDARs) and dendritic morphology remain unchanged. These data demonstrate a functional dissociation of AMPARs from trafficking of NMDARs and neuronal morphogenesis. This study provides a functional quantification of the subunit composition of AMPARs in the CNS and suggests novel roles for AMPAR subunits in receptor trafficking.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2009-05-19 08:05:26" swrc:key="posted-at"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1097-4199" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="2" swrc:key="priority"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="4502527" swrc:key="citeulike-article-id"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="10.1016/j.neuron.2009.02.027" swrc:key="doi"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="W. for 193 soil samples which differed widely in content of soil organic
carbon (SOC), hydrogen activity, clay content, and in the content of
dissolved organic carbon (DOC). By means of multiple linear regression
analysis (MLR), pedotransfer functions were derived to predict
partition coefficients from soil data. SOC and pH affected the
sorption, though the latter was in a range significantly below the
pK(a) of NP. Quality of soil organic matter presumably plays an
important but yet not quantified role in sorption of NP. For soil
samples with SOC values less than 3 g kg(-1), model prediction became
uncertain with this linear approach. We suggest that using only SOC and
pH data results in good prediction of NP sorption in soils with SOC
higher than 3 g kg(-1). Considering the varying validity of the linear
model for different ranges of the most sensitive parameter SOC, a more
flexible, nonlinear approach was tested. The scientific analysis of intervals now used in contemporary Iran leads to regard all the attempts made up to now as more or less arbitrary reductions of data resisting any rigorous formulation.</swrc:abstract><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1985" swrc:key="jstor_date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0035-1601" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Copyright 1985 Societe Francaise de Musicologie" swrc:key="copyright"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="fre" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Echelles Musicales: Modes Et Temperaments" swrc:key="jstor_issuetitle"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1985" swrc:key="jstor_formatteddate"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Full Length Article" swrc:key="jstor_articletype"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jean During"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2828c0f78353df367876dc89f9b6335b8/iblis"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2828c0f78353df367876dc89f9b6335b8/iblis"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://links.jstor.org/sici?sici=0035-1601%281990%293%3A76%3A2%3C213%3ALDRDLM%3E2.0.CO%3B2-2"/><swrc:date>Mon Mar 19 17:08:38 CET 2007</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Revue de musicologie</swrc:journal><swrc:number>2</swrc:number><swrc:pages>213--225</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="Societe Francaise de Musicologie"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:series>3</swrc:series><swrc:title>L'organisation du rythme dans la musique de transe baloutche</swrc:title><swrc:volume>76</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1990</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>imported </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1990" swrc:key="jstor_date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0035-1601" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Copyright 1990 Societe Francaise de Musicologie" swrc:key="copyright"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="fre" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Notes et Documents" swrc:key="group"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="1990" swrc:key="jstor_formatteddate"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Full Length Article" swrc:key="jstor_articletype"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jean During"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2527c9f242e4bee48e8fc60e98df7ae17/iblis"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2527c9f242e4bee48e8fc60e98df7ae17/iblis"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://links.jstor.org/sici?sici=0044-9202%28199221%2F22%2923%3A2%3C135%3ALIDACD%3E2.0.CO%3B2-3"/><swrc:date>Mon Mar 19 17:08:38 CET 2007</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Asian Music</swrc:journal><swrc:number>2</swrc:number><swrc:pages>135--164</swrc:pages><swrc:publisher><swrc:Organization swrc:name="University of Texas Press"/></swrc:publisher><swrc:title>l'Oreille Islamique Dix Annees Capitales de la Vie Musicale en Iran: 1980-1990</swrc:title><swrc:volume>23</swrc:volume><swrc:year>1992</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>imported </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="199221/199222" swrc:key="jstor_date"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="0044-9202" swrc:key="issn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Copyright 1992 University of Texas Press" swrc:key="copyright"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="fre" swrc:key="language"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Spring - Summer, 1992" swrc:key="jstor_formatteddate"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="Full Length Article" swrc:key="jstor_articletype"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Jean During"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description></rdf:RDF>
