distributed information and the number of linguistic
resources, accessible throughout the World Wide Web,
information retrieval has become crucial for users to find,
retrieve and understand relevant information, in any language
and form. Cross- Language Information Retrieval (CLIR) is a
subfield of Information Retrieval which provides a query in
one language and searches document collections in one or
many languages but it also has a specific meaning of cross-
language information retrieval where a document collection
is multilingual. In the present research, we focus on query
translation, disambiguation of multiple translation candidates
and query expansion with various combinations, in order to
improve the effectiveness of retrieval. Extracting, selecting
and adding terms that emphasize query concepts are performed
using expansion techniques such as, pseudo-relevance
feedback, domain-based feedback and thesaurus-based
expansion. A method for information retrieval for a query
expressed in a native language is presented in this paper. It
uses insights from data mining and intelligent search for
formulating the query and parsing the results.

determining the location of a ground based target when viewed
from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). By determining the
pixel coordinates on the video frame and by using a range
finder the target’s geo-location is determined in the North-
East-Down (NED) frame. The contribution of this method is
that the target can be localized to within 9m when view from
an altitude of 2500m and down to 1m from an altitude of 100m.
This method offers a highly versatile tracking and geo-
localisation technique that has very good number of
advantages over the previously suggested methods. Some of
the key factors that differentiate our method from its

normally microcontroller based which are having limited
computational capability related to various applications. This
paper describes the selection, specification and realization of
a wireless sensor node using the field programmable gate
array (FPGA) based architecture for an early detection of
hazards (e.g fire and gas-leak ) in mines area. The FPGAs in
it’s place are more efficient for complex computations in
compare to microcontrollers, which is tested by implementing
the adaptive algorithm for removing the noise in sensor
received data in our work. Another advantage of using FPGA
is also due to it’s reconfigurable feature without changing
the hardware itself. The node is implemented using cyclone
II FPGA device present in Altera dE2 board .In this work the
network comprises of 4 nodes out of which 2 are test nodes,
one routing node and one base station node. An energy
efficient MAC protocol is tested for transmitting the data from
test node to base station node.

parity check (LDPC) codes are used to reduce the complexity
and power consumption of pulsed orthogonal frequency-
division multiplexing (pulsed-OFDM) ultra-wideband (UWB)
systems is described. The proposed system uses LDPC codes
to achieve higher code rates without using convolution
encoding and puncturing thereby reducing the complexity and
power consumption of pulsed-OFDM system. The LDPC-
pulsed-OFDM system achieves channel capacity with different
code rates and has good performance in different channel
fading scenarios. The pulsed OFDM system is used where
pulsed signals could spread the frequency spectrum of the
OFDM signal. The performance of LDPC-pulsed-OFDM
system for wireless personal area networks (WPAN) is
analyzed for different UWB indoor propagation channels (CM3
and CM4) provided by the IEEE 802.15.3a Standard activity
committee. To establish this, a design of LDPC-pulsed-OFDM
system using the digital video broadcasting-satellite-second
generation (DVB-S2) standard and provide the simulation
results for the different code rates supported by LDPC codes
is presented.

to minimize line losses of power systems, it is crucially
important to define the location of local generation to be placed.
Proper location of DGs in power systems is important for
obtaining their maximum potential benefits. This paper
presents analytical approaches to determine the optimal
location to place a DG on radial systems to minimize the power
loss of the system. Simulation results are given to verify the

brought the issue of market competition to the forefront. This
new perspective has given rise to competition with the goal of
price fall and technological innovation in the sector. In the last
few years a great deal of attention is given to the possibility of
a group of producers (agents) exercising market power by means
of congestion effects. The possibility of two agents acting in a
combined way on the Transmission System affecting the
accessibility by the others to a specific Market is analyzed. This
paper describes an algorithm used to detect measure and
evaluate the impact of these kinds of strategic actions on market
concentration. The results obtained from the study using 9 bus
example network shows that this kind of actions can affect
strongly market share and must be predicted by the Independent
