After all, they will say, this is the age of the Internet, of high technology, of blinding speed and revolutionary change. In this world, the argument goes, only organizations with extraordinary talent are likely to prosper-and these people don&#039;t come cheap. As described by the magazine Fast Company, this new marketplace is also a &#034;free agent nation,&#034; with workers pursuing their own careers and owing loyalty only to &#034;the brand of you.&#034; While not trivializing the success of Southwest, the newer, hipper manager would note that running an airline is not exactly high tech. Sure, there are technical aspects to it, but fundamentally running an airline today is pretty much like it was 30 years ago. And whatever changes have occurred (for instance, the use of yield management software to help maximize revenues per flight or the ability to make reservations over the Web) have occurred comparatively slowly, giving management plenty of time to adjust. So, the fact that Southwest achieves its competitive success through clear values and tight alignment and consistency between its strategy and its people practices is interesting, but possibly not relevant for today&#039;s fast-paced world of high technology. will enhance the students’ thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Simulation has
emerged as an important approach to meet this need. However, simulation based tools are greatly
under-represented in construction curricula. As an effort to address this issue, three success factors for the implementation of simulation tools are proposed. Their application to construction education is demonstrated through two case studies. With dynamic simulation models developed based on system dynamics, we discuss the effectiveness of the proposed success factors in education for fast-tracking and resource management. The findings obtained from the case studies would provide useful guidelines to the development of simulation tools for construction education.</swrc:abstract><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Moonseo Park"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Swee Lean Chan"/></rdf:_2><rdf:_3><swrc:Person swrc:name="Yashada Ingawale-Verma"/></rdf:_3></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/25a2efa0edb36c174f9c79f4e5a0e01d2/arthur_icw"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/25a2efa0edb36c174f9c79f4e5a0e01d2/arthur_icw"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Book"/><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://gso.gbv.de/DB=2.1/CMD?ACT=SRCHA&amp;SRT=YOP&amp;IKT=1016&amp;TRM=ppn+534353398&amp;sourceid=fbw_bibsonomy"/><swrc:date>Thu Jun 25 15:40:23 CEST 2009</swrc:date><swrc:address>Wiley</swrc:address><swrc:howpublished>Chichester [u.a.]</swrc:howpublished><swrc:title>IT success! : towards a new model for information technology</swrc:title><swrc:year>2007</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>it projektmanagement success </swrc:keywords><swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:Field swrc:value="978-0-470-72401-9" swrc:key="isbn"/></swrc:hasExtraField><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="{Michael} Gentle*1957-*"/></rdf:_1></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2802ac10a33e4ee8f8d04757a5026aa7c/brall"><owl:sameAs rdf:resource="http://www.bibsonomy.org/uri/bibtex/2802ac10a33e4ee8f8d04757a5026aa7c/brall"/><rdf:type rdf:resource="http://swrc.ontoware.org/ontology#Article"/><swrc:date>Fri Jun 12 17:24:52 CEST 2009</swrc:date><swrc:journal>Das Hochschulwesen</swrc:journal><swrc:number>5</swrc:number><swrc:pages>144-147</swrc:pages><swrc:title>Studienerfolg in den Ingenieurwissenschaften</swrc:title><swrc:year>2007</swrc:year><swrc:keywords>bib.ms engineer study success </swrc:keywords><swrc:author><rdf:Seq><rdf:_1><swrc:Person swrc:name="Gudrun Henn"/></rdf:_1><rdf:_2><swrc:Person swrc:name="Christa Polaczek"/></rdf:_2></rdf:Seq></swrc:author></rdf:Description><foaf:Group rdf:about="http://www.bibsonomy.org/tag/success"><foaf:name>success</foaf:name><description>Community for tag(s) success</description></foaf:Group></rdf:RDF>
