Applications do not share concepts of persons or projects. In the Semantic Web effort, the W3C has proposed standards for the management of metadata. This talk is about a merge of Semantic Web and Personal Computers resulting in the Semantic Desktop. Existing data sources are adapted to RDF, enabling integration across applications.
