Au départ on utilise delicious bêtement, on trouve un truc qui plait et hop on bookmarque, mais derrière cette machine à bookmarquer, il est possible d’exploiter les informations et de faire de cet outil une vraie usine à veille! Au fur et à mesure de mes recherches j’ai noté 20 manières originales d’utiliser le site de delicious.

Facette is a suite of tools allows Delicious users to organize their bookmarks using facets. Facette offers a bookmarks browser that automatically organizes tags in a user's account. Facette also offers an enhanced version of Delicious' tagging tool.

Facette, un projet issu du MIT, propose une nouvelle approche : avec Facette, vous allez pouvoir organiser de façon plus méthodique vos bookmarks facilement. Facette vous oblige à être plus spécifique dans la façon de catégoriser chaque nouveau bookmark. Facette, entre autre fonctionnalités, met l’accent sur le type d’objet que vous bookmarquez (un article, un billet de blog, un outil web…), son contenu (photo, vidéo, audio…), et l’usage que vous comptez faire du bookmark. Après avoir installé un petit plugin Firefox, Facette ajoute deux icônes sur votre barre de statut, l’une pour bookmarker une page et l’autre pour accéder à vos bookmarks.Facette étant encore un projet de recherche, il est encore un peu brut de décoffrage, mais c’est un superbe ajout à Delicious

Del.izzy vient de sortir (en version beta), c’est donc une opportunité d’en parler maintenant, car si delicious n’y avait pas pensé del.izzy l’a fait. En fait c’est très simple, au lieu de faire une recherche simplement avec tes bookmarks Del.izzy fait une recherche également dans les pages associées aux bookmarks, et le tout retourne un résultat sur google . Ca rend donc le résultat de recherche un peu plus pertinent. Il faut juste donner le mot de passe de son compte delicious (pourquoi? on aurait préféré juste donner l’url, cela aurait permis de rechercher sur les delicious de nos voisins!) Mais je dois dire que les résultats ont été à la hauteur de ma patience. Quoi de plus agréable que de retrouver un retour de requête google archi personnalisé! Vraiment une belle idée. Car quand on est un vrai delicious addict comme moi, on se perd complètement dans nos bookmarks. Grâce est cet outil, on se sent encore plus chez soi. Un must have à mon goût.

If you're looking at a specific user's bookmarks, you can search their bookmarks. If you're looking at a specific tag, you can search only items with that tag. We also let you search tag intersections as well as user + tag. Delicious est donc à la fois un site de sauvegarde de signets, un puissant outil de veille et une passerelle vers une vaste communauté d’utilisateurs. Nombre d’établissements ne s’y sont pas trompés, ainsi la bibliothèque de Paris 4 y a sauvegardé près de trois mille signets, classés au moyen de quelques sept-cents tags et de dix catégories. Son principe initial a été de « ne retenir que des ressources proposant un réel contenu documentaire », expliquait Dominique Philippi, au moment du lancement de ce projet dont il est le responsable. Del.icio.us est un outil génial. C’est l’outil que le monde attendait pour retrouver ce qu’il avait perdu… Le seul problème, c’est qu’il est (un peu) moche, et (plutôt) difficile à comprendre. Je vous propose donc, après plus d’un an et demi d’utilisation, quelques conseils qui feront de vous un expert en del.icio.us.

Interestingness is a media (images, videos, etc) ranking algorithm to provide as an additional metric for search results. The algorithm is based upon an algorithm created by the Flickr team, and is further enhanced by metadata knowledge resulted from the Del.icio.us development. The algorithm was first unveiled publicly on Flickr on 2005-08-01.1 SML.SML: Interestingness = f(views, faves, comments, tags, time, user, network relationships); The ranking is based on one or more of the following factors: * the quantity of user-entered metadata2 (i.e. tags) * the number of users who have assigned metadata3 * the number of favorites assigned to the photo4 * relationship between the person who uploaded the photo and the people who are commenting5 * access patterns related to the media object6 (i.e. where the clickthroughs are coming from; who comments on it and when)7 * a lapse of time related to the media object8 (i.e. velocity of metadata acquisition)

Shows del.icio.us icon in bottom right of window, with a link allowing you to bookmark the current page. Displays "Tagged" message if page is already bookmarked.
