OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. Each OpenDOAR repository has been visited by project staff to check the information that is recorded here. This in-depth approach does not rely on automated analysis and gives a quality-controlled list of repositories.
This web-based tool is based on plain JSF. It aims to provide support for all features of JCR-Repository including optional features like versioning.
The specification for JCR 1.0 can be found here , the work in progress for 2.0 can be found here: here .
For development the implementation Apache Jackrabbit is used, which can be found here: here .

Last week the free and open access repository for scientific (mainly physics but also math, computer sciences...) papers arXiv got past 500,000 different papers, not counting older versions of the same article. Especially for physicists, it is the number-one resource for the latest scientific results. Most researchers publish their papers on arXiv before they are published in a 'normal' journal. A famous example is Grisha Perelman, who published his award-winning paper exclusively on arXiv.

This blog is to record the day to day activities of a repository manager."

ECS was the first academic institution in the world to adopt a self-archiving mandate (2001). All the research output of all members of the School is available and fully searchable in our online repository.
DiscoverLibrary is a new search and discovery tool for the library’s vast collection of resources. A simple search box will bring back results from a number of different sources, including Acorn, the library’s catalog, and the Vanderbilt TV News Archive. Additionally, many of the library’s online article databases are searchable through DiscoverLibrary on the second tab.
This is the initial release of DiscoverLibrary, and its development is an ongoing process. Over time we will add new resources and features, as well as refine the user interface. Please help us make the new service better by leaving your suggestions and comments in the box to the right.
