Responders to cognitive therapy for depression had varying symptom trajectories. Defined (orderly) symptom trajectories predicted better outcomes post-treatment. Response trajectories predicted outcomes incrementally to residual symptoms. Undefined response trajectories may signal need for additional treatment.
