The use of dialectical behaviour therapy for patients with binge eating disorder has developed recently and, as part of the Eating Disorder Service in Forth Valley, an adapted dialectical behaviour therapy treatment programme has been piloted prior to patients progressing on to the weight management service, to find out if an adapted dialectical behaviour therapy group can help patients with binge eating disorder reduce bingeing behaviour and improve quality of life. CBTp is recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence for service users with psychosis at every stage of their illness, but provision of this intervention is not widespread. This narrative literature review critically appraised six primary studies, all of which view CBTp through the eyes of service users, revealing their perceptions of CBTp experiences and of their therapists. Depressive symptoms are common in older adults. The effectiveness of pharmacological treatments and the availability of psychological treatments in primary care are limited. A behavioural approach to depression treatment might be beneficial to many older adults but such care is still largely unavailable. Behavioural Activation (BA) protocols are less complicated and more easy to train than other psychological therapies, making them very suitable for delivery by less specialised therapists. The recent introduction of the mental health nurse in primary care centres in the Netherlands has created major opportunities for improving the accessibility of psychological treatments for late-life depression in primary care. BA may thus address the needs of older patients while improving treatment outcome and lowering costs.

The introduction of mindfulness on two wards in Swindon has received positive reviews, leaving service users and staff feeling 'calm as a clam'.
Mindfulness sessions have been held on Applewood and Windswept wards since January, thanks to a joint venture between the psychology and occupational therapy (OT) services. Daily sessions are now regularly attended by service users and ward staff who are all enjoying the benefits.
There is limited research addressing the experiences of patients in inpatient rehabilitation (rehabilitation), who often spend long periods in hospital, and the nursing approaches utilised.
