    iTEC (Innovative Technologies for an Engaging Classroom) is a four year, large-scale project that takes an informed look at the potential classroom of the future. Starting in September 2010, iTEC will bring together policy makers, researchers, technology suppliers, other technology-enhanced learning experts and innovative teachers in order to design and build scalable learning and teaching scenarios for the future classroom with recognition of the realities of pace of the educational reform process. Rigorous testing of these future classroom scenarios in large-scale pilots will then be carried out in order to significantly increase the possibility that innovation can be mainstreamed and taken to scale when the project ends. With 27 project partners, including 14 Ministries of Education (MoE), and funding from the European Commission of 9.45 million Euros, iTEC will provide a model describing how the deployment of technology in support of innovative teaching and learning activities can move beyond small scale pilots and become embedded in all Europe's schools. The strategic nature of the project is underlined by the fact that the iTEC piloting in >1,000 classrooms in 12 countries is by some margin the largest pan-European validation of ICT in schools yet undertaken.

    הגדרת "חוקר צעיר" הרשאי להגיש הצעת מחקר לתחרות כוללת שלושה תנאים- שהחוקר הוא חבר סגל בדרגת "מרצה" עד חמש שנים, ושלא עברו יותר משבע שנים מתאריך סיום הדוקטוראט. וכן, שלתקופת המחקר המבוקשת על ידו לא עומדים לרשותו מענקי מחקר משמעותיים בהיקף ניכר ממקורות מימון אחרים. הסכומים העומדים לרשות הקרן מאפשרים להעניק מענקי מחקר עד לסכום מקסימלי של 30,000 דולר למענק מחקר (לשנתיים). מועד אחרון להגשת ההצעות: 15 בנובמבר 2010 התשובות תמסרנה לחוקרים בחודשי יוני-יולי 2011. התחלת קבלת מענקי המחקר בפועל התחלת המענקים בפועל תהא ב-1 באוקטובר או ב-1 בנובמבר 2011 לתקופה של שנתיים, ז.א. עד לסוף שנת 2013 (פרט לחוקרים המבקשים שתקופת מחקרם תהיה קצרה יותר).

    specific topics of interest to international audiences of educational researchers. Examples of recent Special Issues published in the journal illustrate the breadth of topics that have be included in the journal: 'Students' Perspectives on Learning Environments', Social, Motivational and Emotional Aspects of Learning Disabilities', Epistemological Beliefs and Domain', 'Analyzing Mathematics Classroom Cultures and Practices', and 'Music Education: A site for collaborative creativity.' Please note that proposals for special issues must be in the format described in the Guide for Authors. What can papers/special issues be about? Proposals for special issues and individual papers can be on any contemporary educational topic of international interest. Reports of high quality educational research involving any discipline and methodology will be welcome. The journal's purpose is to enable researchers throughout the world to engage more easily with findings and issues which are relevant to their own interests. The research reported does not have to be comparative (in the sense of comparing aspects of education in different countries or cultures); a paper may report research carried out in just one location or cultural setting. But to be eligible for publication, a paper must: • deal with a topic which is of interest to a substantial international audience of educational researchers • explain the research in a way which will be comprehensible to an international audience of researchers • draw out explicitly in a discussion of the research those issues or themes which are likely to have international relevance. As well as papers which report the findings of empirical research, papers which review research on specific educational topics of international interest will also be welcome.
