- (private-note)Temperature data bogong high plains. Milder conditions than most overseas alpine areas. Shared genera and species With Macquarie: Agrostis, Blechnum pennamarina, Carex breviculmis, Deschampsisa, juncus,luzula, lycopodium, poa, polystichum, scirpus, uncinia, acaena, cardamine, colobanthus, coprosoma, cotula, epilobium, hydrocotyle, myriophyllum, ranunculus, stellaria, trachymene Poa hiemata is common and has its own communities, fawcettiae has fewe communities of its own, followed by hothamensis which is widespread in heathland, but not grassland. Sparser than the others where it occurs I think. Quite a range of sheltered and exposed sites. Snowpatches too. Hothamensis is a ledge-grass: it?s found in rocky, exposed places. Soil is rocky. Plant cover sparse. Poa fawcettiae seems to be in drainage lines and snowier places.
