Аннотация

We consider mass extinction of species in a simple model of self-organized biological evolution. The mass extinctions take place in terms of punctuations as the same underlying correlated avalanche dynamics that trigger avalanches by other avalanches. We measure interoccurrence times that connote the hierarchy between avalanches(or activities) to analyze time series of burst signal with avalanche. The method is based on the analysis of statistics which waiting or quiet time distribution was constructed. The interoccurrence-time distribution changes from Poisson to scale-invariance on increasing cut-off parameter. For accuracy of the fit, the distributions are tested by cyi-square merit function and Pearson coefficient. Lastly, we compare waiting time distributions with other data (earthquake, solar flare, sandpile models etc.)
