@article{10.1371/journal.pntd.0005645, abstract = {Author summary Human Ebola infection presents a high lethality rate and is characterized by a paralysis of the immune response. The definition of the protective immune profile during Ebola infection represents a main challenge useful in vaccine and therapy design. In particular, the protective/pathogenetic involvement of innate immune cells during Ebola infection in humans remains to be clarified. Nineteen Ebola-infected patients were enrolled at the time of admission to the Ebola Treatment Center in Guinea, and the profiling of innate immunity was correlated with the clinical outcome. Our results show that both effector Vδ2 T-cells and NK cells were associated with survival, suggesting their involvement in the complex network of protective response to EBOV infection.}, added-at = {2021-03-16T16:12:04.000+0100}, author = {Cimini, E and Viola, D and Cabeza-Cabrerizo, M and Romanelli, A and Tumino, N and Sacchi, A and Bordoni, V and Casetti, R and Turchi, F and Martini, F and Bore, J A and Koundouno, F R and Duraffour, S and Michel, J and Holm, T and Zekeng, E G and Cowley, L and Garcia Dorival, I and Doerrbecker, J and Hetzelt, N and Baum, J H J and Portmann, J and Wölfel, R and Gabriel, M and Miranda, O and Díaz, G and Díaz, J E and Fleites, Y A and Piñeiro, C A and Castro, C M and Koivogui, L and Magassouba, N and Diallo, B and Ruibal, P and Oestereich, L and Wozniak, D M and Lüdtke, A and Becker-Ziaja, B and Capobianchi, M R and Ippolito, G and Carroll, M W and Günther, S and Di Caro, A and Muñoz-Fontela, C and Agrati, C}, biburl = {https://www.bibsonomy.org/bibtex/2840cf7fb30f5c687b23112f40dc2a48d/pietschmann}, doi = {10.1371/journal.pntd.0005645}, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28558022/ = {undefined}, interhash = {c9520afc79deec7ab001653200e9644d}, intrahash = {840cf7fb30f5c687b23112f40dc2a48d}, journal = {PLoS Negl Trop Dis}, keywords = {pietschmann}, month = {05}, number = 5, pages = {1-11}, publisher = {Public Library of Science}, timestamp = {2021-03-16T16:12:04.000+0100}, title = {Different features of Vδ2 T and NK cells in fatal and non-fatal human Ebola infections}, url = {https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28558022/}, volume = 11, year = 2017 }
