Abstract

Bradford faced a number of difficulties when publishing in 1934 the paper in which he announced his ĺaw% on the distribution of papers thoughout the literature on a given subject. To clarify these problems his data is analysed to reveal what they show in the light of subsequent studies. In 1967 Leimslcuhler provided a formula. Discusses nuclear form referred to by Bradford. Bradford was concerned primarily with using his law to estimate how many papers were likely to have been published on a given subject. Includes Bradordś paper in full
