Abstract
A simple Mathematical analysis is provided to illustrate the effect
of ambient humidity upon the thermal ignition kinetics measured by
heating a packed sample in an air-circulated oven and the critica
environmental conditions extrapolated using the classical Frank-Kamenetskii
theory. This classical theory is extended to the moist case to elaborate
this aspect of ignition from both experimentation and theoretical
points of view.
