Abstract

This chapter reviews FUJIFILM Dimatix, Inc. printhead technologies, imaging strategies, and configurations available and currently in use to solve even the most demanding industrial applications. FUJIFILM Dimatix Inc. has developed a unique method for understanding market needs, gathering the requirements of the digital printing application, and turning those requirements into viable solutions. Creating these solutions involves three major processes: characterization; image quality; and sustainability. FUJIFILM Dimatix Inc. investigated ways to improve printing robustness via SAMBA 1200 imaging models in the absence of active compensation from adjacent jets by using optimized dot gain and image processing. The chapter focuses on imaging models enabled by 1200 nozzles per inch SAMBA printheads. The Samba family of printheads remains a key element of the FUJIFILM Dimatix strategy for addressing the issues involved in single‐pass printing. With their Silicon MEMS construction, 1200 dpi resolution, and robust capabilities, these printheads are ideal for the critical requirements of industrial single‐pass printing.
