Vibration of Initially Stressed Nonlocal Euler-Bernoulli Beams

Zusammenfassung

This paper is concerned with the vibration problem of initially stressed micro/nano-beams. The beam is modeled using the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory and Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory. The latter theory allows for the effect of small length scale. The governing equations and boundary conditions are derived using the Hamiltonian's principle. The effects of initial stress and small length scale on the vibration frequencies are investigated.
