Abstract
The Future Technology Workshop is a method for the design of future socio-technical systems. It
builds upon existing participatory design techniques and provides a way of exploring the interactions
between technologies and activities, now and in the future. The method has been applied to the design
of future imaging technologies for children. Prototypes of such technologies have been produced and
tested with children. The paper describes the method and its application in this design exercise.
