Abstract

In this paper author considered transient non-homogeneous thermoelastic problemwith second type boundary condition in thin rectangular plate of isotropic material of length a , breadth b , and thickness c , occupying the region R : 0<x£a,0<y£b,0<z£c where c<b<a , c is very small as compared to b .The initial temperature of the plate is f ( x, y,z) and plate is placed in an ambient temperature zero. The plate is subjected to the activity of moving continuous line heat source parallel to xy-plane along x-axis with constant velocity component u along x-axis at ( x¢,0, 0) . The heat conduction equation containing heat generation term is solved by applying integral transform technique and Green’s theorem is adopted inderiving the solution of the heat conduction equation. The solution is obtained inseries form of trigonometric function.
