When looking for interesting bookmarks and publicatons in BibSonomy, a natural way is to search for other users who have similar interests. To make this process easier for you, there is a possibility that you can "follow" one or more users. When you follow a user, it is easy to keep track of all his interesting posts. The list of followers can be understood as a list of people with similar interests as the ones you have.
To follow a user, you just need to click the "follow-button" you find in the sidebar of each userpage beneath the user's name.
The names of the users you are following are shown in the sidebar on the right on the followers page. To unfollow a user, click the red "delete button" behind the username. In the sidebar you can also find users who follow you and simliar users to you who could be interesting to follow.
There are several ways to find a user who could be interesting for you to follow.
The "followers page" summarizes the recent posts of all users you are following. The most relevant entries for you are shown on top of the list.
If you only want to see the entries of one specific person you follow, click on their username that you will find in the right sidebar where the users you are following are listed: now only entries of the selected user will be shown.
You can also change the applied ranking method of the publications by clicking the symbol with the arrow with four bars: in the appearing menu you can choose to sort them by date, name or ranking.
If you choose the option "ranking", you will find the sections "settings" in the right sidebar, where you can choose between the ranking methods "tfidf" or "tag overlap". You can also choose whether to apply normalization during the ranking computation.
To confirm your selections, click the "go-button".
