OnTask has been implemented and trialled in several higher institutions. These trials have provided detailed information about the most relevant functionality, technical requirements to include it as part of current institutional ecosystems, and user requirements to be adopted by instructors and students.
Institutions are at different stages of the learning analytics journey; while some may have infrastructure and processes in place, others may be unsure of where to start or how to use the data produced by their current systems
In this paper we present an example of a Social Learning Analytics Tool to visualise real-time discussion activities in a MOOC environment. Practitioners and researchers can read how to implement and use such an SLA tool as a plugin in practice.
