Vor der Diskussion schildern die Podiumsteilnehmer die Geschichten und Erfolgsfaktoren ihrer Unternehmen. Weitere Sprecher, darunter Vertreter wohlfinanzierter Start-ups und der Berliner Netzkultur-Autor Peter Glaser, runden das Bild von der neuen Netz-Ökonomie ab. Wie Gründer an Fördergeld von Land, Bund und EU kommen, schildern Experten von der Innovationsstiftung Hamburg. Dem komfortablen Gedanken- und Erfahrungsaustausch unter den Teilnehmern ist ein Empfang am Ende der Konferenz gewidmet.
Mit Demonstrationen wie der gegen die Vorratsdatenspeicherung und Überwachung könne das Ohnmachtsgefühl bekämpft werden. Der Weg über Eigen- und Bürgerinitiativen ist auch ein Abschied von der klassischen Politik: nur zwei Anwesende des gut besuchten Vortrages waren Mitglieder politischer Parteien.
