Looked after children wait years for adoption, new study finds - News and events, The University of York

Description

They analysed data sent to the Scottish Government by all 32 local authorities in Scotland, to find out what happened to the children over a four-year period from 2012-2016.

The study found that for children who cannot return home, the process of being adopted takes an average of two to three years. This compared to an average time of nine months away from home, for children reunified with their parents.
