ECPA, European Commission on Preservation and Access (ECPA)was established in 1994 by a group of scholars, librarians and archivists out of concern for the fate of millions of books and documents that are being threatened by acidification, embrittlement and decay. The ECPA aims to raise public awareness of this problem and to impress on users how critical the situation is. The ECPA wishes to act as a European platform for discussion and cooperation of libraries, archives, scholars, and (inter)national agencies.
