Seit Tagen geistert durch den rauschenden Blätterwald die Behauptung, das EU-Parlament wolle noch in dieser Woche eine Abstimmung über die Zerschlagung Googles einleiten. Allein: Das ist nicht wahr.
Doch das ist und bleibt wahrscheinlich das Fantastische an Google: Dass der Konzern es immer wieder schafft, als eine Art kultureller Robin Hood dazustehen und nicht als das, was er ganz einfach ist: Ein profitorientiertes Mega-Unternehmen, das 97% seiner Umsätze mit Online-Werbung macht und nebenbei noch die Art und Weise, wie der Großteil der Nutzer das Internet erlebt, maßgeblich bestimmt.
