Leicester city patients who experience mild depression, anxiety and stress are set to benefit from an online mental health service which aims to support them at the click of a button, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and even on the go.
The new online programme called SilverCloud will now be offered as part of the Leicester City Open Mind service, delivered by the Trust and funded by Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). During the pilot in 2016/17 40 patients were referred into and successfully completed courses through the SilverCloud service.
ChatHealth now receives on average one or two text messages per week. Due to the low number of text messages we have made the decision to cease the service and utilise our resources more effectively in delivering tailored support to schools’ individual needs.

New virtual clinics in the Memory Matters team at Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust means patients suspected of having dementia are able to be diagnosed four times faster than before.
NHS England has announced new funding for seven mental health trusts to enable these organisations to pioneer world-class, digital services to improve care for patients experiencing mental health issues.
This will include, for the first time, all key professionals involved in a patient’s care having access to real-time records – from triage and initial assessment, through to admissions or referrals, as well as transfer between services and follow up care.
The trusts will also develop remote, mobile and assistive technologies to empower patients to manage their conditions and enable family and carers to provide the best possible support.
