South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health has developed a Toolbox that has helped a number of people to build their own plan dealing with emotions and preventing mental illness.
What is Toolbox?
Toolbox is a self-empowering, emotional wellbeing signposting service whose aims are to encourage better self-awareness and help identify emotional support networks. For more information about toolbox visit https://ssnmentalhealth.co.uk/toolbox/
Stafford and Surrounds and Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have signed the Charter for Employers who are Positive About Mental Health, a formal declaration of the CCGs' commitment to the wellbeing of their staff.
Following on from the success of their employer engagement event last year, Shropshire Council’s supported employment service, Enable, will be taking part in the “Time to Talk” day by holding the event, “Making Mental Health your Business Makes Time to Talk” in Shirehall.
The event allows employers and employees to come and speak to the organisation’s team of experts about how to deal with mental illness in the workplace.
People are being invited to take part in a special programme of art activities every Thursday at the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford.
‘This Way Up’ is organised by Creative Health CIC in conjunction with Staffordshire County Council’s Arts team who want to promote good mental wellbeing using the arts. The workshops start from 12 January to 9 February and will be encouraging people to take some creative time out for themselves.
Budding artists will work with professional artists and create their own personalised pieces of art, including collage, construction and printing. People will get the chance to attend six hands-on art sessions and try out new ideas each time. They can then develop their skills, ideas and artwork at home and enjoy art as a means to relax.
Two £25 vouchers are up for grabs in the library’s ‘Making the Most of Information’ survey.
To take part, just visit http://goo.gl/AdN4ok by Friday 19th February.
