Doubly Cursed is lauded for being the first autobiography written in Hindi by a Dalit woman, but by balancing feminist critique with a hard-won analysis of caste-based oppression, the activist and writer Kausalya Baisantry redefines the very genre she writes in. How should her life story be understood when translated into English?
